Serving Veterans and Their Families

It’s not just what we do, but what we make happen

The Advocate Program launched the Veteran Supportive Services Unit in 2011, with the ultimate goal of ending veteran homelessness in Miami- Dade and Monroe Counties. Through the Department of Veterans Affairs Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program, the Advocate Program has been able to assist thousands of Veterans and their families’ transition out of homelessness and move into permanent housing.

The Advocate Program partners with Citrus Health Network, Legal Services of Greater Miami, Jewish Community Services, and Miami- Dade County’s Community Action and Human Services Department to provide veterans with an array of wrap around services to assist them on their journey towards housing stability. Through these partnerships we are able to offer veterans case management services, legal services, housing counseling, employment services, connection to VA and public benefits, and temporary financial assistance needed to obtain or retain permanent stable housing.

The Advocate Program has also been recognized as a leader in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for its efforts in establishing individual programming and sentencing plans for criminal justice-involved Vets as well as its advocacy for Veterans Court/Calendars.
